Software giant Microsoft has announced that it will bring back clippy, the paper clippy, the paper clip in Microsoft Office, if the post on its official Twitter account gets 20,000 likes.
Clippy, which appeared in Office 97, was initially used as an assistant that offered help and tips for using Microsoft Office. Users who liked and hated it because it was thought to be annoying increased considerably, and finally Microsoft removed the Clippy emoji in Office XP in 2001.
Several Microsoft employees revived Clippy as an animated sticker in Microsoft Teams. Microsoft has discovered that people enjoy having fun entering data into spreadsheets or creating PowerPoint presentations. So he brought Clippy up again.
