Sony announced earlier this month that it was acquiring Dutch-based Nixxes Software, which makes PC ports and optimizations for games such as Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the new Tomb Raider trilogy and Marvel’s Avengers. Although the acquisition objectives are clear, sony, which did not make much of a statement at the time of this announcement, has a clearer statement this time. Jim Ryan, CEO of SIE, announced the acquisition of the company to develop more PC ports.
Nixxes Software to bring Playstation games to PC
In an interview with Famitsu, one of Japan’s leading magazines, Jim Ryan made clear the purpose of the acquisition of Nixxes Software. Ryan said in a statement: “I’m not going to let you get to know what you’re going to do. “We are still in the early stages of bringing our games to the PC platform. However, we are pleased with this process and look forward to working with Nixxes Software on this issue.”
Sony has so far brought games such as Days Gone and Horizon Zero Dawn, signed by first-party companies, to the PC platform. The company, which also reaches solid sales figures with these games, is expected to come up with new PC ports in the future. Although many important IP names such as God of War are mentioned in this regard, we can say that the closest game expected to appear on the PC platform is Uncharted 4.
