News of the postponement came from Dean Hall’s new space-themed survival game Icarus,a video game designer and producer of the hugely popular game DayZ. Icarus is a PvE (AI against player) survival game where you can play co-ops for up to eight people or alone. The game, which aims to offer you a long adventure in a big world, would normally be released in August. Looks like we’re going to have to wait a little longer for the production, which has been postponed until November.
DayZ producer Dean Hall’s new play Icarus postponed
Although the game’s release date has been postponed until November, producers say there will be a longer beta available from August 28. Dean Hall’s new game Icarus, which left the DayZ developer team in 2014 to set up its own game studio RocketWerkz, will be able to experience single player or up to eight co-ops and explore its wild world.
There has also been a statement from the production team regarding the postponement:
“To ensure that the game is optimized for our players, we have decided to postpone Icarus’ release date until November and offer a longer beta process where you can start playing from August 28.
Our team is very committed to providing players with the best experience when the game is out. We closely monitored the development of our game and decided that we wanted to give him more love by postponing Icarus. By improving our beta process, we have spread it out over several weeks, each with a certain focus. One of the positives will be to reduce beta fatigue on our players.
We accept that this news may not be what you want to hear; however, we are confident that this decision will lead to the best possible exit of Icarus!”
