Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick likes to talk and criticize Game Pass and similar subscription services whenever he gets the chance. Zelnick, who also missed the opportunity at Take-Two’s fiscal year meeting, once again expressed that his views on not adding new games to subscription services such as Game Pass have not changed.
Consumption habits on streaming services that offer line-up entertainment, such as Netflix, are very different from interactive entertainment, Zelnick says.
Despite these explanations, Zelnick says, they’re open-minded about it, offering catalog games to subscription services, and even offering some new games, albeit rarely. One of them must be Grand Theft Auto V. The game, which was added and removed in time for Game Pass, and then re-added, will be out of service again soon.
But it’s possible to draw from these statements that Take-Two has no intention of giving its relatively new games to services like Game Pass.
