We recently learned that an announcement about a game that has not yet been announced in Take-Two’s financial report will come very soon. Claims that this game is a Marvel game developed by Firaxis have also gained momentum. Already, Take-Two said Firaxis would announce new projects later this year. The fact that one of them is a Marvel game also gains strength. A new allegation has been raised.
Jeff Grubb, a popular figure in the gaming media, said in the Giant Bomb release that he expects the Marvel game being developed by Firaxis to be announced later this month. He also shares some of his feelings about the game.
Grubb says that although this game was developed based on the Marvel universe, it was considered an original idea. Based on the reports he has received, he suggests that the game does not contain a direct connection to the Marvel cinematic universe, that it tells a new story, that characters from the Marvel universe will not be involved in the game, but will pass through a larger universe. Instead, we’re going to develop our own characters. Here, a similarity is established with the customization and development of team members in XCOM games. That’s why the game was considered a new idea.
We are awaiting an announcement later this month to find out to what extent grubb’s allegations are true. Let’s see if a Marvel game is actually being made without Marvel heroes, or if it’s just another situation, we’re following up.
