According to a Kotaku report, Rockstar Games is developing revised versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC, Stadia, iOS and Android.
The revised versions will be a mix of “new and old graphics” in the Unreal Engine engine, preserving the structure of a classic Grand Theft Auto game. The user interface will also be updated but will retain the same classic style. While details of the gameplay are not shared, the remakes are said to stick to the original games as much as possible.
The new versions will be available for consoles from late October to early November. PC and mobile versions will also reportedly debut in 2022.
According to the published model, all three games will be available in a single package. The games will be available digitally.
Kotaku also reports that Rockstar Games wants to port Red Dead Redemption, but whether that request will happen depends on the success of grand theft auto remakes.
VGC editor Andy Robinson also confirmed Kotaku’s report.
