Apparently, Phil Spencer, who is the president of Microsoft’s Xbox side, owns a Steam Deck. Phil Spencer said in a post on Twitter yesterday afternoon that he liked steam deck and that playing Halo and Age via xCloud felt pretty good. Phil Spencer has previously stated that he wants to see xCloud, Microsoft’s cloud-based gaming system, on other platforms, and although they have said they have taken some steps to do so, he explained that other platforms are not keen on it. The Xbox side, which is already in collaboration with Steam, may want to bring xCloud to the Steam Deck in some way.
Phil Spencer: Steam Deck runs xCloud very well
Xbox Game Pass’s cloud-based gaming system, which can be run through an internet browser, was recently built into the pc-side app and was opened for users who are members of the Xbox Insider program. We’ve also seen titles like “Xbox Game Pass coming to Steam” in recent months, and we haven’t seen any improvements since. While the giants of the gaming world seem to have their eyes on Steam’s latest device, in recent weeks Ubisoft has announced that “If the Steam Deck is successful, we can go back to Steam”.
After yesterday’s post by Phil Spencer, the partnership between Microsoft and Steam comes directly to mind. Although xCloud can also work through the browser, it will be much better to see and experience it as an application in itself. Although Steam’s new device (Pre-order) and xCloud system are unfortunately not yet available in our country, we hope that both will come in the future.
