Overwatch Christiane Louise, the artist who brought characters like Cortana to life in Mercy and Halo, was murdered in Brazil on August 6th. A colleague announced the news of Louise’s death, saying Louise, 49, had been killed in Rio de Janeiro. The suspected killer, identified as Pedro Paulo Gonçalves Vasconcellos da Costa, was arrested by police.

Sources say the suspect confessed to the murder. The suspected killer was said to have intended to collapse into the woman’s entire assets after he killed Louise. According to the police report, Christiane Louise was murdered in her own home with a broken glass. The suspected killer reportedly cut off some of the woman’s parts before hiding her body. The woman was pronounced dead a few days before her body was found.
According to police records, the suspected killer and the suspect’s mother hid Lousie’s body after keeping it in their home for two days. Suspected killer Pedro Paulo has reportedly been a close friend of Christiane Louise since 2017.
News of Christiane Louise’s passing resonated with league of legends, Overwatch and Halo players, and the players offered their condolences to the woman’s family. Some Overwatch actors called the tragedy Mercy’s famous line;
