You know how in some surgeries, foreign objects such as gloves or gauze are forgotten inside the patient, a similar event occurred in the production of RTX 3090. Reddit user antonyjeweet posted that he bought a brand new RTX 3090 Founders Edition video card by giving him tons of money (you know, prices start ;d at $1,500), but after installing the card, he saw the temperature of the video card hovering around 230 degrees.
If a video card is getting this hot, he saw that there was a used finger glove in one of the thermal pads when he opened it up, saying there was definitely something wrong with the thermal part and taking a little risk.
“Now I know why my video card is warming up so fast. Now the temperature is a maximum of 86 degrees, even after 1.5 hours of stress testing,” says antonyjeweet.
Nvidia initially stated that the card was no longer covered by the warranty because it opened the inside of the antonyjeweet card, but they later renewed the warranty as the news spread. They said, “If it’s working properly, keep it, send it if there’s trouble working, let’s fix it:)
Due to global chip supply shortages, it is possible to see such scenes in the future. Because the people who work in these factories are in the production business day andnight, even 150,000 workers in a factory in Vietnam. In a working pattern like this, gloves are forgotten on the card, and so are other things.
