Valfaris was one of my favorite and most successful platform games in recent times, with great music, graphics, level of intensity and successful episode and boss designs. Its developer, Steel Mantis, has announced a sequel, Valfaris: Mecha Therion, but judging by the trailer, we’re going to see a very different game than we expected.
For one thing, the game’s graphics are no longer 2D. There are now 2.5D graphics made with 3D polygon models. The game world is 2.5D like the characters. But the biggest change stands out in the genre of the game, because it’s not a platform like the first game, it’s a shoot;em up (or rather, shoot;em right) genre.
This time, our main protagonist, Therion, uses an “advanced machine of death and destruction.” You remember there were similar scenes in the first play, and that’s when they became the game itself.
The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but the Steam page is ready. So we can add it to the wish list and start waiting.
