Although Cyberpunk 2077 had official mode support months ago, we did not see much improvement in this direction. Now we can say that the company has started to take steps to change this, since the creator of the Wolvenkit mod construction toolkit has hired the team and thus plans to further develop the resources that will be offered to the mod community.
According to Hambalkó Bence’s message to Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Community Discord, the team has joined CDPR and will work together on projects related to Cyberpunk 2077 backend and mod support.
CD Projekt confirmed this information in a statement and said, “We will work with Yigsoft on the development of Cyberpunk 2077 mode tools. The mod community has always been very important to us, we will be very happy to work side by side with them to further develop the tools we will offer mod makers.”
This recruitment will not affect Wolvenkit, yigsoft’s work for CDPR will be completely independent of the work they have presented to the community so far. And the team won’t leave Wolvenkit, of course.
