Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene has officially announced his departure from Krafton, the producer and distributor of PUBG. Greene, who gave the game its name and created it, aims to build his own studio. It is not yet clear what games this studio, PlayerUnknown Productions, will be sailing to.
It’s worth remembering, however, that Greene has been severing ties with PUBG for some time. In 2019, the producer switched to PUBG Corp. in Amsterdam, Amsterdam, and founded PlayerUnknown Productions. Since 2019, the team has been working on games set in the PUBG universe.
Following Greene’s decision, PlayerUnknown Studios left Krafton entirely. In a press release, the developer thanked both the PUBG team and Krafton and expressed his readiness for the adventures that await him in the future. Greene will share his new project with us in the coming years.
