Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Bluepoint Games, the developer of remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls.
Marco Thrush, president of Bluepoint Games, said of the purchase via PlayStation Blog:
We are so excited to officially join PlayStation Studios!
Austin/Texas has been bluepoint’s headquarters since we first founded the studio in 2006, and now we’re a team of nearly 70 talented creators, and we continue to grow. Although the studio has certainly grown over the last 15 years, our cultural beliefs and goals have never deviated. Our first goal has always been to push the boundaries and in doing so create games of the highest possible quality. We are excited that PlayStation Studios shares a similar culture and vision with us.
