Activision has announced the download and installation file sizes of Call of Duty: Vanguard on different platforms, and we’re back with a game that takes up a lot of space on the hard drive. Activision reports that the game will be covered as follows:
- PlayStation 5: 64.13GB download | 89.84 GB required space
- PlayStation 4: 54.65GB download | 93.12 GB required space
- Xbox Series X/S: 61GB download | 61 GB of space required
- Xbox One: 56.6GB download | 56.6 GB of space required
The previous two Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War, took up approximately 200;GB each on consoles. In fact, Activision acknowledged earlier this year that Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone wouldn’t fit together on 500GB of hard drives.
However, thanks to the new “tissue publishing technology” technology they used in Vanguard, they were able to reduce file sizes by half. Thanks to this technology, 30% to 50% space is gained on PCs and consoles.
Now that Activision has developed this technology, if it can somehow make it available in previous games, call of duty lovers will probably breathe a sigh of relief 🙂
