Fatal Frame director Makoto Shibata said the positive reaction to the revised version of Wii U-exclusive Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water exceeded his expectations and hinted that fans were considering remaking other episodes of his favorite horror series.
In an interview with JP Games, Shibata was asked if he had any plans to remake or port other Fatal Frame (or Project Zero) games as they are known in Europe. Shibata replied:
“Fatal Frame: Maiden of the Black Water is being held for the 20th anniversary of the series, so we don’t have any other remaster plans at this time. However, the positive response we received from the players exceeded our expectations. Therefore, we can consider this in the next process.”
