By the end of 2021, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing for a big close. The MCU, which has been vacant for the past year, is already closing the gap with both Disney+ and motion pictures this year. While everyone thinks this process will continue unabated in the coming year, the MCU has made a significant change to its vision calendar and has completely renewed 2022 – 2023. Fortunately, this year’s Marvel content has not been touched.
While the new calendar includes 2022 films, some unnamed films from 2023 have been postponed indefinitely. The final calendar is as follows:
- Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse of Madness: March 25, 2022; to May 6, 2022.
- Thor: Love and Thunder: From May 6, 2022; to July 8, 2022.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: July 8, 2022; november 11, 2022.
- The Marvels: November 11, 2022; february 17, 2023.
- Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. February 17, 2023; to July 28, 2023.
- Untitled Marvel Project 1: Released July 28, 2023.
- Project Anonymous Marvel was released on October 2: 6, 2023.
- Untitled Marvel Project 3: November 10, 2023; november 3, 2023;
With this domino effect, the number of MCU films we will see in 2022 has been reduced to 3. The focus for Marvel content next year could be disney+ series. Secret Invasion, which we all expect to see in the movies, is also expected to be released in 2022. The interesting thing is that the films in 2023 have been taken off the calendar. Either there’s been a mistake in the making of these films, whose names we don’t know yet, or Marvel will be re-renewing its 2023 calendar from top to bottom and explaining them later.
Now the horizon for the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be set for November 5; eternals will be released later in December with Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the interim, a fun New Year’s Eve adventure with Hawkeye seems to be waiting for us. As streaming services gained strength every day, these changes of the MCU seemed a bit like transferring power in cinema to Disney+. Let’s see which way disney shifts in the balance of cinema/streaming service after 2023.
