In its quarterly financial report for the year ended September 30, 2021, Sony announced that the PlayStation 5 shipped 13.3 million units worldwide and the PlayStation 4 shipped 116.6 million units.
A total of 3.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles and 200,000 PlayStation 4 consoles were sold in the three months prior to September 30. PlayStation 4 sales were down 1.3 million from the previous fiscal year.
As of September 30, 2021, it had 47.2 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, compared to 45.9 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The number of subscribers increased by 1.3 million.
