New World, one of Amazon Game Studios’ most successful businesses, has taken the internet by storm since its debut. The game, which reached the limit of 900,000 simultaneous players in the early days and signaled that it would become the new star of the MMORPG world, did not sustain this success for a long time.
According to SteamDB, the game debuted on September 30 and lost 500,000 players in about a month. The number of simultaneous players remained in the 800,000 band in the early days of October, but has now fallen to 400,000. If the decline continues, the game is expected to be fixed in the band of 200,000-300,000 simultaneous players in late November.
This significant decrease in the number of players can be attributed to many reasons. For example, server problems with the game’s release caused many players to say goodbye to New World from day one. Some MMORPG enthusiasts argue that New World doesn’t yet have a good enough “end game”.
