Activision Blizzard has announced the postponement of the studio’s two highly anticipated games, Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4. Blizzard did not give any dates for the pair and could only say “a date later than we planned.”
“These are two of the most anticipated games in the game world, and our teams have made great progress recently to finish both games. However, we believe that giving our teams more time to complete the construction and continuing to grow their creative resources to support these post-release games will ensure that these games are names to be enjoyed for many years to come.”
Blizzard believed it was essential to the long-term success of its employees, players and series. They also said that these postponements would change the expectation of an increase in the next fiscal year, so this suggests that the games will pass 2022 and may be released in 2023 at the earliest.
