TaleWorlds Entertainment, one of turkey’s most successful gaming studios, announced today its benchmark vehicle for its beloved game Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. The software developed by TaleWorlds tests both the processor and the video card in a balanced way, unlike many similar software that focuses mainly on the video card. This helps to more accurately measure the gaming performance of modern processors.
An Innovative Test Tool
The Bannerlord benchmark vehicle consists of a scene where two huge armies collide. Currently, the number of troops is fixed at 1000, but it is possible to reduce this number from the game settings (Performance/ Game/ Battle Size). The scene created always follows the same camera route, creating a more stable test environment. Basic strategies, such as which of the parties will attack and when, also depend on a scenario. But other than that, the movements and formations of independent soldiers do not depend on a scenario. The 1,000 soldiers on the map, their formations and mounts, are constantly making choices based on artificial intelligence. In addition, physics calculations such as the routes of objects such as arrows and javelins in the game, strokes and characters’ contacts with the environment are calculated in real time.
Testing both CPU and GPU
With the addition of animations, rendered objects, and other CPU-connected functions, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s benchmark tool can create scenes that can even force high-end processors and graphics cards. However, the tool ensures that performance differences between test and actual game stretching remain minimal. This makes the test software ideal for evaluating the performance of gaming CPUs. Bannerlord’s advantage over gpu testing of its performance test tool is large-scale battle scenes with a large number of objects and models with high levels of detail. For a good video card test scenario, it will be enough to test with Ultra-tuning level 4K resolution.
Mount & blade II: Bannerlord performance tester provides fps graphics as well as some basic information that players can benefit from when adjusting. However, users who want to see the results in more detail can browse the recording files created by the software for frames per second values.
