Amy Hennig, creative director of the Uncharted series (and Visceral Games; the cancelled Star Wars game), took over the newly opened game studio of film production company Skydance Media two years ago. It was recently announced that the studio’s first game was Marvel-themed.
On the FatMan Beyond podcast hosted by Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin, Bernardin announced that Amy Hennig was one of the people working on her new play.
Bernardin being from the comic book world is very good news for the script. Bernardin, who previously wrote comic books for Image, Marvel and DC, wrote stories for Marvel on behalf of locomotives such as X-Men, Spider-Man and Wolverine. We don’t yet know which character or crew this new game will be about, but during the Podcast, Kevin Smith said he knew what the project was, that he couldn’t say it clearly, but that viewers who participated in the live chat were guessing correctly. The predictions in the conversation were Ant-Man and Fantastic Four;
It was previously announced that the game would be an action-adventure game. I don’t think anyone would say no to a fantastic four game with a little cosmic New York sauce, with all four characters directed rather than Ant-Man. Especially considering Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts will direct the new Fantastic Four film, the combination of film and game keeping the name Fantastic Four on the agenda for a long time.
