Yesterday we mentioned that Gladiator is coming to a sequel after 21 years. Today we’re rewinding the calendar a little bit more and going to the end of the ’90s. The Lethal Weapon series, starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover,is set for its fifth and final film. In fact, it was richard donner‘in his dream’ to make the hell’s weapon after many years. However, Donner, who passed away last July, has pinned all his hopes on Mel Gibson. Gibson, who has not run away from such a great responsibility, has officially announced that the fifth film is on its way.
The first Lethal Weapon film was released in 1987, and the series was finalized in 1998, at least until now. This sad dialogue between Gibson and Donner also raises the emotional burden of the new final film. But what I’m curious about is how Danny Glover, who even in the first film says, “I’m too old for this job,” will look at it after all this time. The gorgeous duo Gibson and Glover will naturally appear as Riggs and Roger in this final film. Lethal Weapon 5, which does not yet have an official release date, seems to be an emotional farewell in every sense.
