Dice Electronic Arts submitted plans for Battlefront 3, but EA turned them down because of the high cost of using the Star Wars license, game reporter Tom Henderson reported. One unnamed developer said the plan was rejected because “it would have to sell 20% more to make the same money.”
Instead, EA opted to focus on the next Battlefield game (as if Battlefield 2042 had been a huge success), which was scheduled to be released as early as 2023.
But the weird thing is that Electronic Arts is also developing two Star Wars games. Neither of these games are multiplayer, but story-based one-man games. The success of STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order seems to have paved the way for one-man Star Wars games for EA.
