With Forza Horizon 5 released today (November 9, 2021), Discord doesn’t seem to get along very well. According to users, a Discord error is causing Forza Horizon 5 to crash.
Although the exact cause of the error is not known, according to players who have made headlines on Reddit, the problem is triggered as soon as you turn on Discord’s “Screen Sharing” feature and Forza Horizon 5 crashes.
Discord error specified on support page of Forza Horizon 5
The Discord error, in which users suggest different solutions (or rather alternative methods), is actually mentioned on the support page of Forza Horizon 5. Programs on a puffy list, including OBS, Xsplit, MSI Afterburner, and Discord, may cause the game to fail or crash, according to the page.
Discord screen sharing error forced the closure of both Steam and Microsoft Store versions of Forza Horizon 5. Some users recommend using Screen Sharing instead of Discord’s streaming feature (but discord does not transmit the game’s audio to the other side when you apply this method), while others recommend using Beta/Alpha versions of Discord.
Forza Horizon 4, released in 2018, is said to have the same problem as Discord.
