Electronic Arts has announced plans to create a connected Battlefield universe by making changes to the game’s development structure. The company has also made significant changes to its DICE studio (the EA studio responsible for Battlefield) that wants to release a Battlefield game about many different characters and stories. Oskar Gabrielson, who has worked at DICE for nearly nine years and holds the title of general manager, is preparing to leave Electronic Arts altogest.

Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn (the EA studio responsible for such productions as Titanfall, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order), will take on a new role as overseer of the entire Battlefield series. Marcus Lehto, one of Halo’s designers, will also be responsible for assembling the studio in Seattle to make the Battlefield series more meaningful.
Battlefield 2042, released last month and subject to a wave of serious reactions, currently has 64,079 reviews on Steam. With only 35% positive reviews, the production is not recommendedby 65% .
