In recent months, both Marvel and DC have opened their cards for next year and made their fans smile. So we thought we’d put it together to see what’s waiting for us in terms of movies and tv shows in 2022.
DC FanDome 2021
On a misty October evening, we watched a DC FanDome that lasted for about four hours. I hope you haven’t seen it because it’s been four hours of my life in general. But with good clues about the future of the DC Cinematic Universe and a great The Batman trailer after a long time, at least it made the finale beautiful. While the future of DCEU depends on how fast Flash runs, side movies can make faces smile.
Black Man (Film – July 29, 2022)
The Black Man is late, maybe never comes…
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has long said that his dream superhero role is Black Man. The Warner Brothers have not been indifferent to this call, and Black Man’s film is officially on its way. It was an opportunity that Hollywood, which loved to make everyone an anti-hero, couldn’t turn down, obviously. We didn’t see much of the film on FanDome, but we witnessed the emergence of Black Man. “I was born to play this role,” he said, “but seeing Black Man in a universe that includes Shazam has a lot of potential. If we watch Shazam vs Black Man on the big screen one day, we may also see that potential shift to kinet.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Film – December 15, 2022)
Jason Momoa or Aquaman doing the box office? I still don’t know…
The DC Cinematic Universe had lost its course before the film Aquaman. However, Aquaman’s extraordinary passing of the $1 billion threshold at the box office paved the way for a sequel. There were no in-movie footage of the sequel The Lost Kingdom during FanDome, but behind-the-scenes and director James Wan’s comments took up plenty of space. Earlier reports said the horror side of the film would be at the forefront, but we didn’t see many clues in the concept images. Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which we’ll see as the chief villain of Black Manta, will again try to outdo itself at the box office with plenty of Jason Momoa contributions.
Peacemaker (Series – January 13, 2022)
Is every path to peace fair?
It was already an absurd idea to take John Cena and turn him into a superhero. On top of that, doing it in The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, made it even funnier. Now peacemaker has his own show on the horizon, and his level of humor seems pretty high. The first trailer released during the DC FanDome suddenly erased the dubious look at the Peacemaker series, giving plenty of reasons to wait for the series. John Cena was the secret star of the event throughout the entire DC FanDome. Peacemaker’s “naïve” state and passion for peacekeeping seems to make us smile a lot in the new series. The “butt baby” joke featured in the trailer was, in my opinion, the most fun moment. Some Punisher, some Mr. Bean, some John Cena. Peacemaker is the most serious contender to be the absurd comic book adaptation we’ve been looking for since The Boys. (Do not take on Doom Patrol.)
The Flash (Film – November 4, 2022)
If you run fast enough, you can even save DCEU, Flash!
The DC Cinematic Universe has made too many mistakes so far. But they have a story that’s almost like “Ctrl + Z.” With the Flashpoint scenario, it is possible to make a reset to the universe by fitting the work into the comic book case. The first images from The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, were also released during the DC FanDome. As Miller said, we haven’t seen a lot of details about the film yet, but it seems certain that there’s a multiverse on the horizon. There was more than one Flash in one scene of the trailer. And as in the comic book, Barry Allen seems to be using time to save his mother, causing a butterfly effect and cleaning up his own chaos. Of course, the most exciting part about The Flash is that we’re going to see two Batmans. Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will star in two different Cloaked Cavalry films. The Batmans are likely to play a key role in the backdrop stories, as the war, starring Aquaman and Wonder Woman, probably won’t feature in the film.
The Batman (Film – March 3, 2022)
And the soloist Batman…
The most anticipated film in the recent history of the entire FanDome event, even DC; After nearly four hours of watching the new trailer, it was insincere to sponge off the past and not get excited. Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, this Batman movie looks exactly the flavor we’re looking for. The struggle of a more impt, novice and angrier Bruce Wayne against corrupt Gotham, hired killers and the most invasive birds also looks cinematically fantastic. In the last scene of the trailer, I open that reverse camera angle in between and get gassed. If the Warner Brothers don’t get too much into the story and the director, we could have a different and darker Batman after the Nolan trilogy.
Disney+ Day
As the streaming service’s wars heated up, Disney+ began removing the axes it had buried. Last month’s Disney+ day may not have been too full, but all of a sudden we’ve seen 12 Marvel series. Some of these were things we knew before, and some of them we learned for the first time. Let’s see what awaits us in 2022 and beyond after Disney+ day.
X-Men ’97 (Series – 2022)
The return of X-Men The Animated Series!
I want to make this beautiful announcement right in the first place! There was a cartoon era that made at least two or three generations, including my generation, love Marvel work. Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk and Iron Man had their own series, and they got together occasionally. Now with the X-Men making the final in 1997, this beautiful period is back, with many of the original team’s names preserved! Let’s call it the comeback of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Because I still wonder what happened to the real, true Mary Jane…
Moon Knight (Series – 2022) and She-Hulk (Series – 2022)
Mad Archaeologist and Lawyer Lady is closer than we thought!
Although Disney+ day doesn’t offer much new visual content, we did get a closer look at She-Hulk and Moon Knight. Although the images published were quite limited, we were able to get an idea of the atmosphere of Moon Knight in particular. On the She-Hulk side, we saw the early moments of Professor Hulk and his cousin Jennifer Walters; She-Hulk’s transformation seems to be a little painful. Previous reports about the show indicated that the fourth wall would break and the humor aspect would be quite overwhelming. After watching the first two episodes of Hawkeye, I’m more sympathetic to comedy-heavy MCU series.
Secret Invasion (Series – 2022)
The Secret Invasion is coming, check on your partner, your friend!
The development that shocked me on disney investment day last year was that the Secret Invasion story would be rendered as a Disney+ series. This subject, which has been handled differently in comics over the years, could have covered exactly a cinematic period when looking at the MCU trajectory. However, the series, starring Nick Fury and Talos, will likely take a serious turn for the MCU’s film side, particularly the Captain Marvel complex. The release of nick fury’s first appearance from the show was also a bit of an event bonus. Samuel L. Jackson, perhaps, is the main character, Skrull, after the Secret Invasion we’ll be watching as he retires from the MCU.
What If…? Season 2 (Series – 2022), Spider-Man: Freshman Year (Series – 2022), Marvel Zombies (Series – 2022), I Am Groot (Series – 2022)
Animation storm!
This year Disney+;the first MCU animation What If…? We had the chance to meet him. What If again in the calendar for the coming period…? It will be in its second season. Meanwhile, Baby Yoda (I refuse to say Grogu!) is coming to the screens to add babooning to the screens, as is the animation of baby Groot; The most intriguing animated project was Spider-Man: Freshman Year. Tom Holland-style Spidey;this series, which we’re going to go back to our early high school years, can present the tony stark we miss; the independent Peter Parker. What if…?is the series we know the least about; Marvel Zombies popping out of your skin. Will zombie heroes start the story all over again or What If…?; It’s not even clear if it will continue, but the MCU will come up with plenty of animated series in the new era, that’s for sure.
Agatha: House of Harkness (Series – 2022), Echo (Series – 2022)
Agatha’s jaw made Echo deaf!
Kamala Khan will come to the MCU step by step, while Ms. Marvel will present an alternative genre as a teen series. We will also be watching Kamala grow on screen, which is certain to merge with Captain Marvel and play a key role in the mcu’s future. Another young man, Riri Williams, will appear as the heir to Tony Stark as Ironheart. Another armored genius is preparing to save the universe, so I hope we don’t have another Ultron disaster. Especially considering that there will be an Armor Wars series in the middle for the Iron Man legacy, this succession/predecessor love will also spark a rebirth for the Stark brand. If possible, he’ll have less missiles and plenty of armor this time.
