Ubsoft has announced that Anno 1800, season 4, and UNEP Choice award-winning game mode Eden Burning will be available for free on December 14th. Anno 1800 is now available for Windows PC in the Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games store. In 2022, Anno 1800 will release three DLC as part of season 4.
Anno 1800’s new game mode comes december 14th
The Anno 1800 recently surpassed two million players, and to celebrate this milestone, players will receive two ship skins as gifts, one for Battlecruiser and one for Ship of the Line, with the upcoming game update.
Eden Burning, which first appeared during the 2021 Green Game Jam, introduces a new game mode: Scenarios. Eden Burning Scenario includes a rogue-like gameplay mechanic that teaches players the dangers of an exploitative economy for the environment. Players must complete an industrial project without destroying their ecosystem while weighing the effects of using renewable and non-renewable resources. Players who prioritize sustainable practices will get the best results, and their decisions will affect the environment positively or negatively. Eden Burning will be available on December 14 as part of free Game Update 13. Season 4 will release at least one new script alongside each new DLC.
Anno 1800is also partnering with Ecologi, a social enterprise that funds reforestation and other carbon reduction projects. Starting December 14, players can purchase the Plant A Tree DLC for $2.99 to buy a new ornamental tree to plant in their city. At least $1 of each purchase of the Plant A Tree DLC will be forwarded to Ecologi by Ubisoft. After March 31, 2022, the DLC will be removed from the in-game store, but players with DLC will keep it in their accounts. This decoration will also be given free of charge in 2022.
Marcel Hatam, International Brand Manager of the Anno series from Ubisoft Mainz, said: “The Anno team believes that protecting our planet and taking action to address climate change is very important. It was a real honor to be in Green Game Jam earlier this year and win the UNEP Choice award. We’re happy to be able to bring this concept to life in our latest free game update and show how video games can play a role in informing players about environmental issues.”
In addition, the Anno 1404 History Edition will be free as part of Ubisoft’s 35th anniversary celebrations from December 6 to December 14.
