There have been some very successful games coming from China lately, and maybe you’re aware of them. F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, for example, was the best metroidvania game of the year for me. Another game that has shown similar success is firework, a horror puzzle game.
This game, which has only Chinese support so far, averaged 98% in 19400 reviews and 99% positive in the last 800 reviews.
Firework has also got the English version as of today, so we can play “let’s see what this game is” and understand the story.
In the game, set in the town of Qingtan, rookie police officer Lin Lixun begins investigating a truck that caught fire during the funeral. Lin has the ability to communicate with the dead, and while we investigate this mysterious event, we find ourselves in the face of a much greater mystery and dark forces. Fueled by Asian horror stories, folk tales and culture, the play aimed to evoke a sense of fear with a high-tension story rather than scenes that suddenly bounced the actor.
Let’s play, let’s see 🙂
