Take-Two Interactive has announced it will buy Zynga in a deal worth $12.7 billion. The deal is expected to be completed in the first quarter of fiscal year 2023, which ends on June 30, 2022.
Strauss Zelnick, president and CEO of Take-Two Interactive, said in an investor interview with the Video Games Chronicle that the company would continue to make acquisitions.
Take-Two Interactive’s acquisition of Zynga marks the company’s entry into the mobile gaming market. Take-Two is the publisher of some of the best-known game series, including Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock, Borderlands and NBA 2K. Zynga, on the other hand, is on the market as a developer of mobile and Facebook games that sound like CityVille 2, FarmVille, FarmVille 2.
