Rumors of Twisted Metal Reboot have been in the news for some time. Twisted Metal’s revival project is no longer the responsibility of Lucid Games and has instead been transferred to one of Sony’s first-party studios, a new report says. This report by VGC states that there is no obstacle to Rebooting Twisted Metal.
Uk-based studio Lucid Games, which previously developed ps5-exclusive Destruction All-Stars, is no longer developing Twisted Metal, sources say. Instead, he says, Sony has transferred Twisted Metal Reboot to one of its first-party studios in Europe. Sony’s European studios include Guerrilla Games (Horizon: Forbidden West), Housemarque (Returnal), London Studio (Blood & Truth), Media Molecule (Dreams) and nixxes and firesprite studios, which are included in the new acquisitions.
At this time, neither Sony nor Lucid Games has commented on the resulting report. VGC said Sony did not offer a reason for the developer change. However, Destruction suggested that AllStars’ mixed review scores could be instrumental in this decision.
