A new Icelandic studio has received a $2.5 million investment to fund the development of a new open-world game for mobile devices.
Rocky Road was founded in 2022 by QuizUp founder Thor Fridriksson and former Plain Vanilla Games executives Vala Halldorsdottir and Sveinn Davidsson.
Fridriksson will serve as CEO of Rocky Road, while Halldorsdottir and Davidsson will serve as COO and chief design officer, respectively.
Thor Fridriksson, co-founder and CEO of Rocky Road, said, “We build Rocky Road on the assumption that normal people are excited to play and socialize in a huge gaming world.”
