Musou is the type of game we call Koei Tecmo;s Warriors series in Japan. The Warriors series is divided into branches, dynasty warriors, samurai warriors and so on. Their Japanese names are Sangokumusou and Sengokumusou, and that’s musou; That’s where the part comes from.
Akihiro Suzuki, producer of the Dynasty Warriors series, said he wanted to make a Star Wars Musou game. “A lot of different IP and work comes up when discussing with our developer team. It’s all my idea, but personally I’d love a Star Wars crossover,” says Suzuki.
The producer also said he hopes the Dynasty Warriors franchise continues, wondering how the next generation of consoles will affect future games.
Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires reviews on Steam aren’t very good at now, with 48% positive reviews in 800 reviews. But it still doesn’t seem to have affected Koei Tecmo’s desire to bring the Musou type to different IPs.
