According to Deadline, Amazon and DJ2 Entertainment have signed a collaboration agreement, under which DJ2 Entertainment will prepare video game adaptations for Prime TV.
Dj2 Entertainment was one of the production partners of Sonic, but after that it took significant steps towards sequencing and filming video game adaptations. Hazelight Studios, for example, has announced in recent weeks that they are collaborating for a DJ2 adaptation of It Takes Two.
DJ2 Entertainment is currently working on adapting both Disco Elysium; and Life is Strange, which was voted game of the year by most publications in 2019. Thanks to this new agreement, prime tv will have the first broadcast rights when these projects are completed.
“It’s a real honor to have Prime Video with us as our platform partner,” said Dmitri M. Johnson, founder of DJ2;
We’ve been getting a lot of game series and movie news lately. In addition to Far Cry and Assassin;s Creed, Netflix has now announced that bioshock is being worked on, and we know that Amazon is setting its sights on the Mass Effect adaptation. HBO will be in the equation with The Last of Us and Paramount will be joined by Halo. Of course, we want adaptations of the games we love to be successful.
