Elex II’s Magalan world is a world of secrets. Piranha Bytes, the game’s developer, says that “Jax needs to explore the open world, learn abilities and find new equipment to have a chance against threats from the skies.”
In the game we will make friendships with different factions, find ourselves allies, meet vendors and teachers, and travel all over the world. Clerics, Berserkers, Outlaws, Morkons and Albs will come across as factions, but we can move on without joining any of them. Piranha Bytes says you will shape the story of ELEX II, we will see how true it is when March 1st comes.
Elex II’s new video is called the “deep gameplay” trailer, and it’s called the Description Trailer. This trailer contains plenty of gameplay images and explains the changes in the game and the different mechanics.
Here’s how I ranked the Pros and Cons of the game in my ELEX review:
PRO
- An extremely large and full map
- You feel the impact of your choices in the world
- The story is so envied, it’s getting more and more open and starting to intrigue.
- Voiceovers are quite successful
- The talent system is very detailed
CONS
- Main character animations will be taken from the log
- Combat mechanics are not successful, there is no sense of stroke
- It takes a long time for the game to gain momentum.
- There’s a lot of minor mistakes, they need patched up.
- I would expect more diversity in NPC faces
We’re waiting for Piranha Bytes to show the lessons she learned from the first game in this game, something tells me it’s going to be a lot better than ELEX.
