Yesterday, we shared with you a news report that the development of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been terminated. Before the ink of this news dried up, the news came that the new Ghost Recon game was on its way:)
Kotaku; While sharing the news that no new updates will come for Breakpoint, he also touched on other developments related to the series. They also shared new information from sources they had received, talking about Frontline, which will be the battle royale game of the series, and the negative reactions received by the NFT added to Breakpoint. Accordingly, a new ‘mainstream’ Ghost Recon game is being developed by Ubisoft’s Paris studio.
Codenamed ‘OVER’, this new Ghost Recon game was one of the games seen in the Nvidia leak. According to Kotaku’s sources, the game has been in development for over a year and is scheduled to debut in fiscal year 2023.
Last year was the 20th anniversary of the series, and Ubisoft released a special broadcast for this anniversary. While sharing the roadmap for Breakpoint there, a new game announcement has also arrived; A battle royale game called Ghost Recon Frontline was announced by Ubisoft’s Romanian studio as being developed. There was also a closed beta for this game earlier this year, but it seems that there have not been many positive signals from here. The project has been largely overhauled and is not expected to debut anytime soon. At least it’s pleasing that they’re taking into account the reactions from gamers.
As it turns out, Ubisoft is focused on the next big game in the series while dealing with this side game. Following these news, I presume that the official announcement is no longer far away; Especially if a release schedule is planned as claimed, we can expect this new game to be officially announced in the next few months at the latest.
