Elon Mush, the world’s richest man, made an offer of $54.20 per share for shares of Twitter that were not in his hands. If the offer is accepted, Elon Musk will have bought Twitter for $41.39 billion.
Twitter’s shares are currently trading at $;d 45, which means Elon Musk has submitted an offer about 20% more than his current value.
Musk filed the application with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission today.
“Twitter has extraordinary potential, I’m going to unleash that potential,” Musk says.

Twitter’s Board of Directors said they would carefully review the offer and decide how to proceed, making the best decision for the Company and shareholders.
Elon Musk’s fortune is estimated at approximately $273.6 billion.
