Recently, CD Projekt announced that it is postponing the next-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition from the 2nd quarter of 2022 to an unspecified date. The development was in the hands of Sabre Interactive, and CD Projekt took over this project entirely. After I took over, I got the news of the postponement.
Following this incident, many allegations were made. Events such as the unspecified date and the takeover of the project indicated that the development process was troublesome. Michal Nowakowski, senior vice president of business development at CD Projekt, responded clearly to these rumors circulating. Nowakowski said.
“I was looking over the Internet at the headlines that were coming out here and there, and I saw one story that really caught my attention. That was the news that the next-generation version of Witcher 3 had been postponed to an unspecified date.
When I looked at the news, it said there were difficulties in developing it. But that’s certainly not the case. I just want to point out that this isn’t real.
We have completely brought the development process of the game into the company. We’ll present it to the players in time. We’re trying to make the most of our time. We are doing research in this process.”
Meanwhile, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski said moving development into the company will not affect the development of the next game.
