Microsoft released its earnings report for the third quarter of fiscal 2022, which ended March 31, 2022. Revenues are rising from the previous year.
Xbox gaming revenues were up six percent from the previous year. Xbox console sales (Xbox Series X|S) rose 14 percent with continued high demand.
Xbox Content and Service revenues were up four percent from the strong quarter a year ago. Microsoft also noted that Xbox Game Pass subscriptions are increasing.
In the last 12 months (April 2021 – March 2022), the Xbox brand generated approximately $16.5 billion in revenue. This is the highest income among previous 12-month periods.
Overall, Microsoft increased revenue by 18 percent to $49.4 billion compared to the same period the previous year. It increased its net income by eight percent to $16.7 billion.
