Step by step in the PlayStation Plus subscription system, we are moving in the right direction in a new era. As we have recently shared with you the details; This summer, there will be a transition to a new system that combines PS Plus with PS Now. One detail that counted among the features to be presented in this system was access to demos of the games. It is understood that Sony will not only rely on its own studios, but will include other studios in this system.
According to information shared by Game Developer; Sony is asking some of its developers to create time-limited demos for their games. These demos will be available in the PlayStation Plus Premium group.
A threshold value has also been set for these games; Sony would require such time-limited demos for games sold for wholesale price of $34 or more. Besides, these demos are supposed to be at least 2 hours long.
In games that will then be available on PlayStation Store, the developer team will have to present this demo to gamers within three months of the game’s release, which will be available to PS Plus Premium subscribers for 12 months.
Meanwhile, developers will be able to hold free weekend events and release special demos as before, there are no obstacles.
We can say that game demos, which were popular for a time, have started to become popular again in recent years with events including introductory episodes released before the release of games, demos that can be played for a certain period of time, demos of hundreds of games such as Steam NextFest. This is a nice picture for us game lovers, of course, so that we have the opportunity to personally test whether a game is a game that appeals to our personal tastes, so that we can make our decision on whether to buy the game more easily.
Sony has also made a move to revitalize this space on the PlayStation front, let’s see how more of it goes.
