Tencent Games is opening a new development studio in Liverpool, England.
The new office will be run by Pete Smith, Vice President of Partnerships at Tencent Games Global.
It is currently home to 12 members of Tencent’s global manufacturing team. Tencent’s partner studios plan to support the development of the games.
Other newcomers to the studio include Ivan Davies as director, Jon Lawrence as development director, and Tom O’Connor as director.
“Given our ongoing expansion in the global market, we wanted a central location that our manufacturing staff could call home,” Smith Said said.
“Liverpool is a vibrant city full of creativity and diversity. It has also been a game development center since the beginning of the gaming industry. We believe that the manufacturing capability and industry experience available in the local region will accelerate our growth and capabilities.”
