Electronic Arts has made an official announcement regarding FIFA and announced that the partnership with FIFA will end after the next game, and that FIFA 23 will be the last game to be named FIFA.
The company said that a new era will begin from July 2023, and will continue with the EA Sports FC series after this date. Electronic Arts, which has been offering its games under the FIFA name for almost 30 years, will be in the new series with over 300 license partners following this major change.
“Everything you love in our games will be available on EA Sports FC – the same great experiences, modes, leagues, tournaments, teams and athletes will be included in the new series. Ultimate Team, Career Mode, Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football,” says Cam Weber, managing director of EA Sports.
EA, premier league, laliga, bundesliga, serie a and MLS special partnerships with more than 19,000 players, more than 700 teams, more than 100 stadiums and 30 leagues in the license portfolio will also continue.
“This new independent platform will bring with it new opportunities to regenerate, create and evolve. It’s more than just a symbol change, EA Sports FC is committed to being a symbol of change.”
Following the announcement, leading European football teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris-Saint Germain also posted EA Sports FC on their official accounts.
