Following the departure of Electronic Arts and FIFA, Electronic Arts will continue its journey with a series of football games called EA Sports FC. After this breakup, FIFA will not stand idle and will appear with its own name-calling football game.

It’s unlikely for now how FIFA names its game, causing confusion among players. After all, when I see a game called FIFA 24, EA will automatically come to mind, obviously that’s what I’m most curious about the new game 🙂

Anyway… FIFA says in a statement that their departure from EA will allow them to develop new football games with third-party studios and broadcasters, which will mean more options for football and gamers.

FIFA says it is currently in talks with leading game publishers, media outlets and investors about a main series of FIFA games, which will be a direct competitor to EA Sports FC. Before this new game, which we will see in 2024, “non-simulation” games will also start to appear starting in the third quarter of this year.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has reacted strongly, saying only games with official licences will appeal to football fans.

“I can assure you that the authentic, real game with only the word FIFA in its name will be the best game that football fans and gamers can play. The only global and original name is the FIFA brand. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26 and more – the only thing that hasn’t changed is the FIFA name, it will remain unchanged forever and best.”
