Metroid Dread, which debuted in 2021, was a production that fans of the series were eagerly awaiting. Metroid Dread managed to sell a total of 2.9 million copies in March 2022, outpacing even the most praised Metroid Prime sales.
Thanks to the popularity of the Nintendo Switch, the game, whose sales have also skyrocketed, is currently the best-selling game in the series. Just behind Metroid Dread is 2002’s Metroid Prime, with 2.73 million copies in third place.
