Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to invest in first-party studios. To that end, it has invested an extra $300 million in first-party studios and announced plans to release games on multiple platforms.
Sony said on an investor call: “With our existing studios, our goal of bringing first-party games to multiple platforms continues. In this direction, we are investing another $300 million. We know that this move forward will lead to positive results.”
There was no mention of which of these platforms. However, according to estimates, pc will reportedly be the first platform other than PlayStation.
In recent years, Sony has continued to make significant investments in its existing studios, as well as acquiring studios such as Bungie and Haven.
