One of the first details announced about The Callisto Protocol shown during The Game Awards in 2020 was that the game would be set in the PUBG universe.
Actually, this was a risky choice because players who have nothing to do with PUBG; I wonder if there will be anything we miss; he would think. The reason for this preference is that Striking Distance is a company founded in 2019 by PUBG Corp., the producer of PUBG. The main purpose of the studio was to produce games that would take place in the PUBG universe.
However, Glen Schofield officially announced yesterday that this situation has changed.
“The Callisto Game has its own story and world. It is no longer set in the PUBG universe. At first, PUBG was part of the timeline, but later it had its own world. PUBG is a great game and we still have a few small surprises for fans. But The Callisto Protocol has its own world, story and universe.”
Schofield is the creator of Dead Space and the former boss of Sledgehammer Games and Visceral Games.
