Days Gone creative director and author John Garvin says that if you love a game and want to see a sequel, you should buy it at full price when it comes out.
God of War creator David Jaffe’s live stream on youTube channel, John Garvin said, “I have an idea that viewers might find interesting and that might annoy some of them.”
“If you like a game, buy it for full price. I don’t know how many times I’ve come across users’ rhetoric like ‘I got the game on sale, I got it through PS Plus
David Jaffe asked how we would know if we liked the game without playing it, John Garvin said, “You don’t know. However, if you did not support the game at its release, do not be told if there is no sequel. God of War sold millions in its release, and Days Gone didn’t. I speak for myself as a developer. I don’t work at Sony anymore, and I don’t know the sales figures.
David Jaffe also said that after launching Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror for PSP in 2006, he remembered being very angry that the game had been pirated hundreds of thousands of times and felt as if the money was coming out of his own pocket.
The Sony has no plans for the sequel to Days Gone, according to Jason Schreier of
Bloomberg.
