Capcom announced in March that Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will debut later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The Twitter account PlayStation Game Size stated that all three games for PS5 have appeared on PlayStation Networks. This means that the next generation versions of the games will be released soon.
Capcom also recently announced that it will host the Capcom Showcase 2022 live streaming event on June 14 at 01:00 CEST. The next generation versions of the three games are likely to be announced on the live stream. You’ll be able to watch the event on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.
Users who own Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade the game to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S versions for free. A free upgrade patch for PC will also be offered.
With the new generation version, various features will be included in the game. These features will include new technologies such as ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio. The PS5 version of the game will have DualSense (including Tactile feedback and adaptive triggers) support.
