Ibisoft’s vice president of creative content production and editorial Tommy François, has stepped down following allegations of harassment and sexual misconduct. François was considered one of the most creative business-minded employees at Ubisoft. He also appeared in one of the company’s biggest productions, Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs and Tom Clancys The Division.
Business Insider reports that Tommy François was placed on administrative leave at the end of June. Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot announced François’s departure in an email to employees on July 31 last week, Business Insider reported. The email states that Tommy François left the company immediately, but did not provide further details. François, who has worked at Ubisoft for almost 14 years, has not yet changed the phrase “working at Ubisoft online portfolios
François is not the first person to leave the company after a similar scandal. Ashraf Ismail, Maxime Béland, Serge Hascoët, Tannis Mallat, and Cécile Cornet also left the company due to toxic behavior, sexual abuse, misuse of employee information.
Yves Guillemot has promised that big changes will come as Ubisoft’s studios are constantly coming up with reports of harassment and abuse. We hope these changes come before another report of abuse. Tommy François and have not commented on the matter at this time.
