According to a tweet from Diablo Immortal’s official account, Diablo Immortal has made the biggest opening in the history of the Diablo series in just one week. The game has been downloaded more than 10 million times in such a short time.
Of course, Blizzard is making comparisons here with other Diablo games, and those games are full-priced games. So it’s normal to have a big difference, but it’s still not bad, especially for a game that got a lot of backlash when it was first announced.
Diablo III’s exact sales figures are unknown, but in 2015, it was announced that the game exceeded 30 million copies. So Diablo Immortal still has a long way to go.
The download figures of the game are very good, but the Metacritic user ratings are just as bad. So much so that just three days ago, Diablo Immortal, Blizzard’s 3rd worst scored average game, lowered its average even further to 0.5. This means that it is on par with the worst-scoring World of Warcraft Classic: Burning Crusade Classic , and if the decline continues, it will play to the top.
