Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was a Final Fantasy game released in 2077 exclusively for PlayStation Portable, and preceded 1997’s Final Fantasy VII. Until now, it was not possible to play this game on a platform other than PSP, but Square Enix decided to change this situation because it took the wind of Final Fantasy 7 behind it.
A modern remastered version called Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will be released this winter for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch, and will use the same game engine as the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Square Enix said, “Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 has received positive reviews around the world for its deep and emotional story since its release in 2007. This new version boosts graphics to HD quality and updates all 3D models in the game.”
The game will be voiced from start to finish, the interface will be completely overhauled, and the character and camera controls will be arranged to suit the next generation. Music is also among those that have been overhauled.
Crisis Core tells the story of Zack Fair, a young member of the band SOLDIER, ending just before the story of Final Fantasy VII begins.
